Frequently Asked Questions
Is 48 by 48 a non-profit organization?
No. 48 by 48 is just the name of the project. Drew Johnson is a responsible, law-abiding citizen that pays taxes on gifts taken in just like every one else.
Can I write off my gift as a tax deduction?
Again the answer is no. Because 48 by 48 does not have a non-profit tax status, the money that is given to Drew is a gift but cannot qualify for a write-off or credit.
What does Drew use the money for?
Drew uses the money to live and to travel to the forty-eight contiguous United States. Drew is accountable to a group of overseers and will make financial statements available to those who have contributed to the 48 by 48 project.
What happens to any extra money?
Any money that is deemed "extra" will be used to help further projects Drew worked with over the course of the 48 by 48 year.
